Zach Allen is a partner with Mock, Schwabe, Waldo, Elder, Reeves & Bryant, where he concentrates his practice in commercial real estate lending, leasing, development and sales. Before joining Mock Schwabe in 1995, Mr. Allen had been an associate at the Dallas office of Haynes and Boone, L.L.P. since 1988. He received his B.B.A. in 1985 with special distinction from the University of Oklahoma. He received his J.D. from Southern Methodist University School of Law in 1988, where he was Notes and Comments Editor for the Journal of Air Law and Commerce.
Mr. Allen is licensed to practice in Oklahoma and Texas. He is a member of the State Bar of Oklahoma, Oklahoma County Bar Association, State Bar of Texas (Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section), Dallas Bar Association (Real Property Section), and the American Bar Association (Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section). He is Board Certified in Commercial Real Estate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is also listed in The Best Lawyers in America (real estate law), Chambers USA Guide to America's Leading Lawyers for Real Estate Law and Oklahoma Super Lawyers (real estate).
In the course of his practice, Mr. Allen’s engagements have involved structuring, documenting and negotiating a broad variety of commercial real estate transactions, including:
- Representing institutional lenders in real estate secured loan transactions in 23 states.
- Acquisition, sale and financing of a broad variety of retail, office, multifamily, industrial and undeveloped real estate properties in Oklahoma and Texas.
- Representing shopping center owners in lease transactions with numerous national and regional retail tenants.
- Acting as lead leasing counsel for office building owners.
- Representing lenders and owners in connection with various construction projects in Oklahoma and Texas.
- Representing borrowers in connection with CMBS financing
- Acting as outside leasing counsel for a national retailer
Mr. Allen’s current and past civic and community memberships include the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence Board of Trustees, Commercial Real Estate Council Board of Directors, Norman Public School Foundation Board of Directors, the Norman Youth Soccer Association Board of Directors and the Alcohol Advisory Committee for the University of Oklahoma. He is also a Trustee and current President of the Beta Theta Pi Corporation of Oklahoma.
Mr. Allen lives in Norman, Oklahoma, where he and his wife, Lisa, have three daughters, Brooke, Lauren and Madison.
